Our mission is to lead young adults to Meet, Know, Love, & Serve Christ. We do this through a simple discipleship process which provides opportunities for young adults to pray, learn, volunteer, socialize, and grow together. Open to all who are in their 20s and 30s, we will renew our relationship with Christ through ministries for those who are single, engaged and married in an effort to come together to strengthen the Body of Christ in the great Lake Country Community.
Our Discipleship Process
First, we need to Meet Christ. We need to have an encounter with Christ; to come to believe there is a God in our hearts and understand how much HE loves us. That HE desires for us to have a personal relationship with HIM. This is an important first step that most Catholic parishes skip over, they instead attempt to educate first in hopes that belief will follow. But we find that it is easier to learn about Christ after being convicted of HIS love for us. We offer a number of retreats opportunities in conjunction with our Brewing the Faith and Theology on Tap Speaker Series to help young adults meet Christ.
Second, we come to Know Christ. After encountering Christ we desire to know more about Christ and HIS Church. This is done through small groups. Small groups provide a forum for young adults to connect with one another, build community, have conversations about how your faith and life interact with one another, and take time to reflect on your spirituality. Each group has eight to twelve members and gathers at someone's house or apartment.
Third, we are called to love Christ. As we come to Know Christ, we are called to love like Christ. Christians are called to love Christ by loving others through local service events and our domestic and international mission trips.
Next, we Serve Christ. As we become disciples, we are called to bring and lead others along on the journey. All of Jesus’s disciples had disciples that they mentored. We are called to serve others by walking with them through the discipleship process. This could include serving on our core team or a parish ministry; like a liturgical ministry, St. Vincent de Paul, and others at your home parish. As disciples we know that we cannot give to others what we do not have, so we constantly seek to encounter Christ, know more about him, and love others as we walk with others in their discipleship journey.
